How to unlock the password of TP models

For power on password

  If your password is POP(power on password),you need to Remove the  backup battery only.the method to Remove the  backup battery,you can read the HMM(hardware maintenance manual).you can download the HMM of T20,T21,T23 in:http：//www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/MIGR-4UYM .

The procedure:

  How to remove the POP:

1. Turn off the computer.

2. Remove the battery pack.

3. Remove the backup battery.

4. Turn on the computer and wait until the POST ends.After the POST ends, the password prompt does not appear. The POP has been removed.

5. Reinstall the backup battery and the battery pack.

For super password
  IBM does not provide any services to reset the super password.How to unlock the super password of an IBM ThinkPad product,look below:

1.first,find the eeprom in Notebook

The eeprom of 24RF08
   Locate the eeprom first according to your model.T20-23 and T30 have the eeprom underneath and can be accessed by removing the RAM modules cover, no need to dismantle the laptop.
  Other model,must dismantle the laptop.

  This eeprom is 24C01:

2.How to read the data in eeprom

  For ibm laptops,we can not need to unsolder the 24RF08 eeprom or pc8394, just solder 3 wires to SDA, SCL and GND pins of the eeprom. There are two eeprom layouts , corresponding to the 8 pin or 14 pin eeproms.solder the wires using a soldering iron with a fine tip. Also, you can use 0.15 - 0.20 mm enamel coated wires or similar small diameter insulated wires. These wires will be connected later to the interface. As a tip: You can use clips to connect the wires or you can solder on the PCB traces leading to the eeprom pins. Once again, be careful and double, triple check the soldering if necessary till you are positively sure you have done the right job.
  Then use the software to read the data in eeprom,and then save it to a file.

2.To find the password in the file of eeprom

  Use the unlock software IBMpassword to find the password in eeprom file.

  Then scan the password 

  the password in this model is:WATTWU1.
